Allowing cellphones in school classrooms across America is a widely debated topic in most school systems today. With cellphone use amongst teenagers so much more widespread today than it has been in the past decade, teenagers seem to always have their cellphone with them, especially in school. During school hours, having a cellphone can be a beneficial asset in emergency situations, but it can also carry negative aspects along with it. As many people have pointed out, having a cell phone in the classroom can be a temptation to cheat on tests and other assignments. Some of these rules are as follows: 1) You may only use phones during lunch periods, during the transition period between classes, and after the last bell of the day. 2) If you have an emergency or need to make a phone call during class, simply raise your hand and ask the teacher to be excused from the room. 3) If your cellphone or any other internet-accessing device is seen during any of the forbidden times to use phones, then it will be taken and will have to be picked up by a parent at the first convenient time for the parent. 4) If your cellphone is taken, then you will lose the privilege to use it during the specified times of the school day listen above. 5) Multiple warnings or cellphone violations will result in further disciplinary action such as detention or suspension. 6) Cellphones may be used during class times as long as the teacher has stated they may be, and are being used for a learning exercise. Nowadays, almost everyone has a way that connects them to other people, most commonly by having a cell phone. Cell phones have developed profoundly throughout the generations. Teachers need to get with it and allow phones during the school day. Students want to petition to have phones during school. Phones should be conceded in school because in case of an emergency. First, if there is a killer in the school and you want to tell your parents about what's happening. Second if there is bad weather like a tornado or the roads are bad and icy. Last, if you're sick and you need your parents to pick you up from school. Next is after school activities. What if they cancel and all the buses left already. Joe Thomas thought he was sneaky and could listen to the lesson in class and play on his phone. When homework time came for him, he couldn’t remember anything about the lesson all he could think about was the game. As you know, parents are buying their kids brand new phones. Their education is suffering from the new technology. Every aspect of school is becoming more and more of a challenge because the phones are stealing their attention. Although kids are dependant on them, schools should have a stricter ban on them. Media is making more and more kids distracted, test scores will be higher without the use of cell phones , and they will be able to communicate and socialize with peers much better.
Although, the school says no phones why not let us have them out but we still do our work. Some schools try to ban cell phones and no matter what students will always find a way to bring them to school. They should be able to bring them due to if they have family emergencies.

If used in a correct and responsible manner, cell phones may be able to supplement the overall learning and academic of students by providing additional resources and tools, such as calculators, cameras, and the internet in order to help expand the lessons being taught in the classroom.
