During the Industrial Revolution there were new inventions but also spreading of diseases and also disasters, there might be different thoughts of how people think of the Industrial Revolution, in my state of view I think that it counts as a more positive affect. First, people in the Industrial Revolution invented machines to be more efficient in their jobs. Second, invented railroads so people could live in more remote places, and travel also most importantly transportation. Lastly, They had natural resources for transportation, energy resource, and building materials. First, the people in the Industrial revolution invented a lot of machines that saved more time and also worked in a more efficient way. For example they invented the Spinning Jenny, the machine could work 8 threads at a time(Bellis, Mary. …show more content…
The living condition and working condition were really bad(N.p., n.d. Web.), a lot of people died or got hurt, and they didn’t get enough money to what they have done. But, because of this they found out weaknesses they had to improve in such as the machines because people went in and fixed so they could know where they should make changes. The living conditions, although it was bad but people changed and built larger houses and spaces so people could live in. There were class tensions between lower and middle class of earning the amount of money they should have, but in another way it is a positive thing, because of this people started making money and factories had to pay a minimum of wage so slowly the society got rid of aristocracy and people were having better lives(MBaldwinSS9: Positive and Negative Effects of the Industrial Revolution. N.p., n.d. Web. 15 May 2016.). This is why I believe that the Industrial Revolution is a positive affect and not a negative affect to the society and
As Stephen Gardiner once said, “The industrial revolution was another one of those extraordinary jumps forward in the story of civilization.” The Industrial Revolution was in fact an extraordinary jump in the development of the U.S. It created a foundation for what the U.S is today socially, economically, and politically. The Industrial Revolution played a major role in the industrialization and modernization and still has effects to this day. These effects lead to more trade, better transportation, and modernization. It also had had many negative effects on America and England as well. These effects mainly focus on the social side of the Industrial Revolution. These effects include child labor, unfair wage, poor living conditions and poverty. When both the positive and negative effects are put together as a whole, the positive effects outweigh the negative. Mainly because they had a bigger effect on America and the world as a whole, and still affect us today. Because of the Industrial Revolution wages are more fair, living conditions are better, Manufacturing has drastically improved and children are no longer allowed to work in factories.
There were many inventions created to make life a lot easier, the main inventions were the steam engine. The steam engine was used in many industrial settings but mainly for mining. Another great invention was the cotton gin which is a machine which separates cotton fibers rom their seeds. This helped in making many cotton goods such as clothing during the industrial revolution. As well as inventions transport was improved and brought in. The improvement of living standards and education were raised very high. All children must now get a basic education and were all forced to take part in schooling. Working conditions improved majorly with safety. The working conditions for people during this time were now safer and more enjoyable. Hygiene improved rapidly as sewer systems improved during time. Soon after time better food and diet was found as there was a big change in the food produced as well as farming and crops. Many people discovered better medicine which helped with both children and adults’ health which meant better living. Even though the medicine back in the industrial revolution is limited compared to the medicine in our world today, the medicine they had helped in many ways and
The Industrial Revolution was the development of industry that occurred in Britain and Europe or the USA between the years 1750 to 1900. It introduced the development of machinery. It was characterised by the use of steam power, growth of factories, and mass production of manufactured goods. The steam train used to transport people or goods over long distances on land.
The industrial revolution was not only technological revolution but a social one that would lie foundation that would grow the word “revolution” exponentially. The industrial revolution brought with it change, whether that change was positive or negative is questionable however it did change the world as it was known. In both England and the United States of America strong industrial revolutions struck, the revolutions would change roles in the household and society for both women and me and the ideologies held about gender roles. In both countries effected by the revolution, industrialization challenged religion and authority, the impact of which can still be seen today.
One negative effect of the Industrial Revolution was the poor working conditions in factories which were a big problem during the Industrial Revolution. Many people worked in factories, which had very tight spaces and poor lighting. Many
Imagine a world without cars, phones, and radio. This world would feature children working in slums and trips that take twice the amount of time they would if one would have simply taken the train. Believe it or not, but this was how society was before Industrialization. It is argued whether or not Industrialization had a positive or negative impact on society, as it brought the dangerous world of child labor and several ill business practices. Despite these hardships, Industrialization had a greatly positive effect on society, as with it came the creation of child labor laws, the advancement in the mass production of goods, and technological advancements that changed our world forever.
There were a lot of great things that happened in the Industrial Revolution, and a lot of bad things too. Tons of immigrants came over from Europe and Asia for labor jobs. The production of steel, sewing machines, the telephone, and the light bulb were made during this time. People had to make these supplies fast because there was a demand for it all. Children, younger than 10 started to work for more than 12 hours a day and got paid less than their parents. They worked in unsafe conditions, also may have lose limbs, and their life. This was the beginning of the Industrial Age.
The Industrial Revolution was the period between the 1700s and 1800s where Brittan and America graduated from using hand tools, to machines that could manufacture things much quicker. The Industrial Revolution really helped Brittan and America advance in comparison to other countries. They were able to travel from place to place ten times quicker than two hundred years ago, clothes became cheaper, and houses became better built. A British Iron Production Chart shows that in 1740 17,350 tons of iron were produced and by 1900 around 9,000,000 tons were produced. With more iron production came more jobs and better built houses. The more iron Brittan wanted to produce the more jobs and people they were going to need to do it. The Industrial Revolution was a time where people started to make goods using machines instead of making handmade goods. During this time period people started moving towards cities. The Industrial Revolution had a negative impact on society. Three of these negative impacts were that people lived in tenements, working conditions were horrific, and children were forced to work. The Industrial Revolution changed the lives of thousands in a depressing way.
The Industrial Revolution influenced a great increase in the mass production of goods. Before the Industrial Revolution, most goods were handmade in small workshops. This system took many hours, days or even months since each person had a specific skill and even if they passed on their product to the next person, they have
The Industrial Revolution began in the 18th century in Britain and then later spread to the rest of the world. It brought great progress to Britain with great wealth and opportunity for some people, while great hardship for others. The benefits of the industrial revolution outweighed the negatives because of the growing economy of England, the technological advancements and the political growth that occurred. Although there were negative consequences that happened during the Industrial Revolution, I believe that the positive outweighed the negative consequences because of most of the outcomes that it produced.
The Industrial Revolution was a Revolution that took place between 1750 - 1830. During this time there were some hardships and positive effects with a little bit of both. The Industrial Revolution shaped the growing economy at the time in many positive and negative aspects. The Industrial Revolution took place during the late 1800’s and the early 1900’s and was considered to be the “New Industrial” or the “Modern Revolution.” Many positive aspects were brought to the economy at the time due to this occurring some in which being machinery, technology, production of goods, and even an increase in performance rates. These positive aspects were just some that had an outlasting effect on the economy as a whole. The Industrial Revolution did not just have a positive outlasting effect it also affected in many negative ways. This revolution in not just directly affect the economy, rather directly affected the farmers, the working-class, and the middle-class, which then led the economy to be affected as a result.
The Industrial Revolution was a change in the mid-18th century from small scale, domestic production of goods to machine-based, mass production of goods. It is usually thought of as having mostly or only positive impacts on Europe. Although the revolution did have many positive impacts, it had its fair share of negative impacts as well. Some of the positive outcomes included the overall increase in production and value of goods, improved efficiency of how these goods were made, and the development of new power sources. The Industrial Revolution also caused a great increase in population and urbanization. This increase resulted in several negative impacts. Some
