Hart, Charles Henry. An American art critic, antiquarian, and biographer; born in Philadelphia, 1847; died in 1918. Among his published works are: ‘Remarks on Tabasco, Mexico’ (1865); ‘Memoirs of William Hickling Prescott’ (1868); ‘Memoirs of William Willis’ (1870); ‘George Ticknor’ (1871); ‘Turner, the Dream Painter’ (1879); ‘Samuel S. Haldeman’ (1881); and many works on portraiture.
