Charles Wolfe (1791–1823)

Wolfe, Charles. An Irish clergyman and poet; born at Dublin, Dec. 14, 1791; died at Cove of Cork (now Queenstown), Feb. 21, 1823. His title to literary immortality is his ‘Burial of Sir John Moore.’ (“Not a drum was heard, not a funeral note.”) His ‘Poetical Remains, with a Brief Memoir of his Life’ was published by Archdeacon John A. Russell in 1825.
