Sanford, Edward. An American poet and journalist; born in Albany, NY, July 8, 1805; died in Gowanda, NY, Aug. 28, 1876. Included in his best-known works are a poetical address to Black Hawk, and ‘The Loves of the Shell-Fishes.’
