Henry Timrod (1828–1867)

Timrod, Henry. An American Southern poet and journalist. He was born at Charleston, SC, Dec. 8, 1828; died at Columbia, SC, Oct. 6, 1867. His only volume of ‘Poems’ was published in 1860; reprinted and edited with memoir by Paul H. Hayne, 1873. (See Critical and Biographical Introduction).
