John Thornton Kirkland (1770–1840)

Kirkland, John Thornton. A distinguished American Unitarian divine, educator, and biographer; born in New York State, 1770; died in 1840. He was president of Harvard University (1810–27). He wrote: ‘Life of Fisher Ames’; ‘Eulogy of General Washington.’
