Joseph Holt Ingraham (1809–1860)

Ingraham, Joseph Holt. An American writer and clergyman; born in Maine, 1809; died in 1860. He lived for a time in Holly Springs, MS, and early in life wrote some very sensational romances, among them: ‘Lafitte, the Pirate of the Gulf’; ‘Captain Kyd’; and ‘The Dancing Feather.’ After entering the ministry he wrote three religious romances: ‘The Prince of the House of David’; ‘The Pillar of Fire’; and ‘The Throne of David.’
