Joseph Xavier Boniface Saintine (17981865)
Saintine, originally Joseph Xavier Boniface (sat-ēn’). A French littérateur and dramatist; born in Paris, July 10, 1798; died there, Jan. 21, 1865. He wrote about 200 plays. His story ‘Picciola’ ran through forty editions. (See Critical and Biographical Introduction).
