Arany, László (or’ony). A Hungarian poet; born at Nagy-Szalonta, March 24, 1844; died at Budapest, Aug. 1, 1898. Son of the János Arany; member of the Academy after 1872; author of ‘Elfrida,’ a poetical tale (1868, prize); ‘The Battle of the Huns’ (1874); ‘The Hero of Disenchantment,’ a humorous epic (1873), which won a prize and ranks among the best productions of Hungarian literature.
