Luigi Riccoboni (1674–1753)
Riccoboni, Luigi (rik-ō-bē’nē). An Italian dramatist and descriptive writer born in Modena in 1674; died in Paris in 1753. He published: ‘History of the Italian Theatre’ (1728–31); ‘The Comedies and Genius of Molière’ (1736); ‘Reflections on the Theatres of Europe’ (1738–50); and several others.
