Nizami Ganjavi (1140/11202/3)
Nizami or Nizamee (nē-shä’mē). A Persian poet; born in 1141; died in 1202. His works are: the ‘Storehouse of Mysteries,’ a religious poem; ‘Khusrau and Shīrīn,’ a metrical tale; ‘Lailā and Majnūn,’ a romantic epic; ‘Seven Portraits,’ love stories; and the ‘Alexander Book.’ (See Critical and Biographical Introduction).
