Rosa Vertner Jeffrey (1828–1894)

Jeffrey, Rosa Vertner Griffith. An American novelist and poet; born in Natchez, MS, 1828; died in 1894. She contributed to the Louisville Journal under the name “Rosa” in 1850. Her published works are in part: ‘Poems, by Rosa’ (1857); ‘Woodburn,’ a novel, (1864); ‘Daisy Dare and Baby Power,’ poems (1871); ‘The Crimson Hand and Other Poems’ (1881); and ‘Marsh,’ a novel (1884).
