Séverine Zochowska Pruszakowa (b. c. 1830)
Pruszakowa, Séverine Zochowska (prö-sä-kō’vä). A Polish woman of letters; born about 1830. She received an excellent education, and has acquired a style of almost classic purity. She published both historical and poetical works, among them: ‘Tales of Our Times’ (1853); ‘Poetic Tales’ (1855); ‘Elizabeth Druzbacka,’ a poem (1855); a ‘History of Hungary’ (1863); ‘Sebastian Klouswieg,’ one of her finest poetical compositions; and a ‘View of the Literature of the Peoples of the Middle Ages, Particularly the Slavs and Germans’ (1856).
