Thomas Norton (15321584)
Norton, Thomas. An English dramatist; born in London, 1532; died in 1583–4. He owes his place in literature to the fact that he was joint author with Sackville of the earliest English blank-verse tragedy, ‘The Tragedie of Gorboduc’ (1560–61), based on the legendary history of a British king.
