Thayer, William Roscoe. An American author and editor; born in Boston, Jan. 16, 1859; died in 1923. Among his publications are ‘Confessions of Hermes’ (1884); ‘Hesper’ (1888); ‘Throne Makers’ (1899); ‘A Short History of Venice’ (1905); ‘Italica’ (1908); ‘Life and Times of Cavour’ (1911).
