Before We Go to BedXCIII. John Norden
O
Our castle and our stay,
Who rulest with thy power aboue
The darkesome night and day.
Thou rulest with thy hand;
Both which were made for man, we know,
And so was sea and land.
Therein which thou hast plast,
Thou gauest vs, and made vs kings,
To vse them till the last.
Most richly had from thee:
Blesse eke this night, good Lord, wee craue;
Keepe vs from danger free.
Our bodies shall possesse,
And let not Sathan creepe into,
Nor our poore soules oppresse.
Let nothing vs annoy;
Let faith preuaile, let him retire,
And we good rest enjoy.
