Culture
Trans Global airlines is a company to be reckoned with, regarding aviation. They have massive presence in the United States and a large presence world with 52 sites and 242 locations worldwide. This is a carefully curated company that has grown using its culture as a catalyst. The airline industry is not a desirable career option, rarely getting into the top 25 industries and currently not even in the top 100. (Cabral 2024) TransGlobal is dedicated to changing that stigma
and making it a wonderful place to work. Since its founding in 1951, the company has grown to 40,000 employees and is trying to cultivate them all. Their forward-thinking leadership is attempting cultivate an employee pool full of diverse intelligent, and competent people from all walks of life so that they can better serve the even more diverse customers. Other airlines pose a threat to steal either customers or the best employees. TransGlobal is dedicated to making the experience with them the best, for both employees and customers.
Leadership
The leadership of TransGlobal is listed as a publicly held board, a president, a CEO, CFO, COO, VP of Sales, division VPs and subsidiaries. This leadership launched a bold plan known as “TransGlobal 2030” to guide the company towards a common goal. This includes treating their customers with respect and valuing their employees and business partners. The leadership wants to invest in their people and allow the time and tools to improve themselves and
thereby improve the company. This shift in mentality is to help attract and retain the best and brightest in the field, since happy employees work better and are more loyal. (
Riyanto 2021) The
other intent is to build up a loyal base of lifetime customers. These customers are more likely to spend money with the company and encourage their friends and family to do so as well.
Internal
Processes
TransGlobal is always refining and improving their Internal Processes. The company is working to improve on the reservation systems and the apps that customers use on their smartphones. The smartphone app is a major point as most customers are growing more and more dependent on their phones to make purchases, arrange reservations, find lodging, seek customer assistance, and basically everything they need from the mobile device. TransGlobal is adjusting its platforms to meet the customer needs. Additionally, the internal training is undergoing changes. On top of the mandatory FAA SAS training, time, funding, and resources are being set aside for the improvement and education of the current employees. There is currently limited time for training but that will change soon. There is also an increase in education compensation and incentives for employees so that they will be able to pursue new skills and education. The better the employees are the better the company will thrive and adapt, leading to better service quality and customer retention. (
Agyeiwaah)
Human Resources
TransGlobal is now 40,000 employees strong and they are scattered all over the world. It headquarters in Miami, Florida and has been since it started in 1951. Although the company does
keep up with the FAA training, there is plenty of additional training that could be done to improve the employees. With the goal to be in the top 10 industries by 2030, there is a lot of
changes and improvements that need to be done to reach that goal. Human Resources in adding additional training schedules, education opportunities, employee recognition programs, and other
programs to foster a healthy and inviting work environment. The plan is to retain the best employees in the world and cultivate a passion for the job.
Operations
To sustain the worldwide operations, TransGlobal has over 100 aircraft in the fleet. The fleet has an average age of 13 years old, which is higher than the recommended ten. The plan to combat that, is to have new aircraft join the fleet every year so that the aging aircraft can be phased out slowly and not be crippling financial issue when the fleet reaches its end life expectancy. The newer planes are also more efficient and produce less emissions, helping with the goal to have a net-zero carbon footprint by 2075. Additionally, the company is attempting to reintroduce the MAX 737 now that it has undergone safety upgrades and is ready to shake the reputation of being an unsafe aircraft. The addition of the MAX 737 will help achieve the previous two goals.
Financial Performance
From 2017 to 2019, TransGlobal saw a 48.76% increase of net income and a increase of 10.91% increase of operating income. This indicates that the company is doing very well for itself and is very healthy. The shareholders have also noticed this since their Cash Dividends Declared Per Share has increase by 50% during the same time.
