Organization charts create a picture of an organization by giving a visual diagram showing how the organization is broken down piece by piece. Organization charts clarify positions for everyone and help keep track of growth and change in the organizational structure. 2. Identify and describe the “three steps” in the delegation process. The three steps in the delegation process are assign responsibility, grant authority, assign accountability. The responsibility is the duty to perform a task. To grant authority is the power within the organization to accomplish a specific task or job. Accountability is the obligation of the worker to complete the job duty. 3. Describe the “two spans” of management. There are two spans of managemnt , a wide span and a narrow span. A wide span is a flat organization with very problems, and a high level of competence in management and workers. The difference between centralized and decentralized organizational structures are how authority is spread throughout the organization. Decentralized structures are authority widely across various levels. Centralized is authority focused on the upper levels of the organization. 5. What is corporate culture and why is it important for an organization? Corporate culture is the personality of the organization. It often helps the marketing strategy stand out.
