The career of Ben Roethlisberger 35, has been a journey to say the least. He entered the league out of Miami, OH as the eleventh pick in the 2004 NFL draft. He was not lauded like the two quarterbacks drafted before him. Eli Manning 36, who was drafted with the first overall pick by the San Diego Chargers, but traded to the New York Giants. The Giants who have won two super bowls with Manning one in 2008 and the other in 2012 won’t complain at all for the small amount they had to trade to acquire Manning. They traded Phillip Rivers 35, who was drafted with the fourth overall pick that same year, a third-round pick in 2004 which turned into Nate Kaeding, a 2005 first rounded pick which turned into Shawne Merriman, and a 2005 fifth round pick …show more content…

Merriman in his career ended up going to three pro bowls. The knock-on Merriman is he had a steroid suspension for the first four games of his second season and only played for five years for the chargers having been released in 2010 due to injuries and lack of production, eventually retiring after playing for two more years with the Bills. Thus, leaving Phillip Rivers who still plays great to this day even in his old age as really the only great asset who the Chargers got for Manning. This will be known though as a trade the Giants won as they have won two super bowls to the Chargers zero.
Which brings us to Big Ben Roethlisberger who has been in the public spotlight throughout his career for good and bad. Let’s start with the good. In his rookie year, Big Ben ended up playing fifteen games in total with two of those game in the postseason starting his second game of the season taking over for Tommy Maddox and finishing the season with 2621 yards passing, with seventeen touchdowns and eleven
