It is important to remember that each area of learning and development does not work in isolation but they are all in fact interlinked. Good quality activities will cover more than one area of development. For example, allowing children to access the outdoors will not only support their physical development, but encourage their communication and exploration of their environment. This will impact on a child or young person’s intellectual development as they will be more alert and ready to learn, physical activity is also likely to encourage social and emotional development as schools will provide sports clubs and after school activities, giving children and young people the opportunity to socialise and progress in self-esteem.
For a child to understand the world, he/she will understand that people have different beliefs, colour skin and religion, the world and technology. A child will also learn other children’s names, talk about family and friends. This has a huge impact on a child’s social development; they will have awareness of the world and the people around them, and therefore are able to confidently make new friends as they go through transitions such as moving schools. It is important that children and young people are given the opportunity to speak about themselves, their lives at home and also listen to others, and this gives them a perspective on the fact that everybody does different things, others’ lives differ to theirs and this is something that needs to be recognised and respected and not judged. Expressive arts and design means a child or young person making new things, designing and inventing a piece of art that is unique to them and their style, using a variety of materials and equipment. Positive Physical Effects. The most tangible effects on children who play sports is the effects on children’s bodies. According to the author of the book ReSYNC Your Life, Samir Becic, kids are not as injury-prone when involved in athletics because sports help to boost a child’s skeletal and muscular system (“Top 10 Benefits of Youth Sports”). Not only does a healthy, uninjured child feel better, parents also save money by not having to go to the Emergency Room as often. In Becic’s eyes, fighting obesity by keeping kids moving is another positive influence of sports (“Top 10 Benefits of Youth Sports”). Obesity is an ever-growing problem in our society, and obesity leads to multiple different health issues including heart problems. Becic explains that playing sports as a child promotes a healthy heart, which ultimately suppresses the chance of heart disease (“Top 10 Benefits of Youth Sports”). These studies show that by participating in athletics as a child, that child is likely to see their physical health improve.
Physical activity is an integral part of health and well being in children.Our bodies also require physical activity in order to be healthy.Understanding and supporting physical activity, will help children have the right foundation for a healthy and happy life.Positive experiences with physical activity at a young age promotes the growth if strong bones and muscles, help to develop good posture and balance, obesity risk and chronic disease risk infection are reduced.

Exercise can have a positive and negative outcomes in someone's life. Getting the right amount of physical activity can lead to a better change and difference. In the article "Why Exercise May Do a Teenage Mind Good," Patti Neighmond states,"in the survey, researchers found that teenagers who took part in organized sports had a more positive self-image and greater self-esteem than teens who were not physically active"(6). With that being stated, kids or teens who are in a sport tend to be more active, also that it can build self- confidence. With self-confidence, children will not have to worried about speaking or interacting with others that they may not know.

The obesity rate among young people is growing at alarming numbers. Participation in sports helps to combat this issue with the exercise that you get, lower rate of diabetes, lower risk for high blood pressure, and improved cardiovascular and pulmonary function. Physical exercise is good for the mind, body, awareness of one's self, and helps development better eating habits.
If kids got to play sports as a little kid, would they become more social in life? Kids should play sports for positive health, a boost in confidence, and self-esteem. It would be easier for them to make friends with the other kids on their team. Children that play sports become more fit and healthier than kids that aren’t active or play sports. Some will tend to do better in school because they must have good passing grades to play sports as they get older in school.
Although there are many risk to exercising, the benefits can help by improving behavior, help with motor skills, and increase their confidence. With the uprise of technology, kids are getting less and less exercise; but when schools provide after school athletics, students have a chance to stay healthy. In an article written by Tim O´Shei, he states that a 2012 study by the Datalys Center found that young athletes had higher scores in math and english than those who did not participate in sports (12).According to a 2013 report from the Institute of Medicine, physically active kids have more focus, are better problem solvers, and score higher on tests (O’Shei 12). This data highlights the fact that when children do physical activities it allows their brains to think harder and faster. Students staying healthy is very important and when schools give them the chance to exercise they can stay strong and active.
In my opionion, I rather my child have organized play. I believe it is correct that sports help develop heathy attitudes for themselves. It will also show in many cases how to work as a team to acomplish a goal.
Expressive arts and design has only two areas, exploring and using media and materials and being imaginative. Exploring and using media and materials is all about the child exploring everything for themselves for example the child will create sounds by banging things, will sing along to some songs. Being imaginative is the children playing in role play and copying people they have seen do things before like making a cup of tea. The children playing pretend play and dressing up.
