Robert Ayers plays football for a living and makes a pretty good living doing so as a defensive lineman in the National Football League.

In 1985, Ayers was born in Jersey City, New Jersey. He later attended Hoboken High School where he was looked over his first couple years. Then, after a huge senior year was named All-State as a linebacker and was selected to play in the Shrine Bowl. He attended the University of Tennessee as a backup linebacker and then moved to defensive end. His Junior year, he was still a backup player, but still led the team in sacks and tackles. His original contract was for five years and would guarantee him nearly $10 million. During his first three seasons Ayers failed to live up to his expectations. When defensive coordinators changed in 2012, Ayers was relegated to a back-up role once again. The next year he had a much better season and was part of the team that won the AFC Championship, but it would be his last season with the Broncos.

In 2014, he signed a two year contract with the New York Giants for $4 million. He did not finish the season due to a torn pectoral muscle. Even with a shortened season, he had a remarkable first year with the Giants and was tied for fifth among all defense ends who played in a 4-3 defense. He was even ranked higher than superstar teammate Jason Pierre-Paul.

With summer camps starting up, Ayers was back on the field this summer. The Giants have great expectations for him during the 2015 season.
