As a High School Senior approaching Graduation, I am determined to continue my education because I would be the first child out in my family to attend and graduate from a 4-year university and as well as setting an example for my youngest sister to pursue her education. I want to continue my education so I could become a Registered Nurse in a local hospital in Chicago, where I live, and assist others who are need of help. I want my parents, immigrants from El Salvador, to see that with enough determination and faith anything is possible because my parents weren't able to receive an education due to the lack of resources and financial income in their country. Most importantly, I would love to inspire and reach out to the future generation of students to further their education and make a difference in their community.
Therefore, I want to give back to my community so not only teens but anyone could have the opportunity to have a better future. While being a college student at Marquette University, I would take advantage of the community service that the university offers, for example, Making a Living, Making a Difference, Marquette Volunteer Corps, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee where teaching and guiding students is a priority. From my education, I would be able to influence students to become leaders and

Becoming a nurse means to truly understand, embrace, and acquire the characteristics of an educator, an advocate, a comforter, a therapist, a listener and most importantly a care giver. My goal as an undergraduate nurse is to acquire these characteristics and master them so that I can care for any patient regardless
Nursing is a practice in which nurses promote health and the well-being of patients. I believe that nursing is not only a job that prevents and cures illness, but has a deeper meaning and understanding. Becoming a nurse gives the opportunity to maximize and promote patients’ well-being. It is a way to learn and understand new perspectives and expand prior knowledge, to build relationships with patients, community, and other nurses, in addition to learning how to empathize and realize the patient’s needs, and to value and see people as human beings. I think even with the list given is not enough to define or explain a nurse. I believe being a nurse is a diverse and immeasurable experience, and what happens in this field is unknowing and uncertain. My goal in nursing practices is to take in life experiences and use the skills and ideas learned to shape me to become a better nurse and a better person.
Being a nurse was my childhood dream. It started when my aunt, who was a Military Nurse shared her work experiences with me. Listening to her experiences stimulated my interest in nursing and it developed my core beliefs of community, family, loyalty, and compassion to serve the people who need medical help. It also taught me that all things worthwhile required hard work. Another factor that influenced my interest in nursing was going with my mother who was a Medical Technologist and worked at a local community hospital. At a very young age, I was exposed to how healthcare services were rendered by nurses. I was fascinated to see how they provided care to patients without hesitations, nurtured their profession and achieved self-fulfillment with what they do every day. I learned how therapeutic and comforting an encouraging
challenges in this career. I choose the career of being a nurse because I enjoy helping other people.
My community is near and dear to my heart. I live in the small community of Slocum, Texas. I have lived here since the age of two and have gone to the same school my whole life. I live within in thirty miles of every family member and we have family functions all the time. I would use my education to not only benefit my family and be able to help my grandmother who is recently widowed, but I would use my education to benefit my community. One way that I would use my education to give back to my community is through our school. Our school is so small that every Slocum student is on one campus. I will strive to teach second graders and make a huge impact in their lives. I will teach them the value of education and also the importance of their
There is an endless amount of possibilities an individual can go with a career in nursing. Nursing has plenty of specialties to choose from and nursing work is widely available throughout the world. It is personally rewarding and emotional to have an interactive relationship with the patients. This career allows nurses to get on a more personal level with the patients and provide comfort and bed care. Most importantly we can make a difference in patient's lives by bringing hope. During these interactions, it is these type of
As a nurse I will spend a lot of time with my patients and be the person they most likely see most often therefore giving me a chance to make a difference in their lives. I see myself as a good citizen, I am honest, caring, positive, and a Christ
Growing up, I heard the same questions. What do I want to be when I grow up? Am I going to attend college? If so which one? What am I going to study when I get there? Throughout my childhood, I was always taught if I wanted a good job with a high paying salary I would obtain it through higher education. As I grew up I understood that my college education was not about the money, but the core curriculum in the education.
I was given the opportunity to attend the University of Florida summer institute. There were some questions we were asked to answer to show our ability in the Healthcare field and to prove ourselves on why we should be chosen to attend. The first question that was asked is… Why do you want to attend the Healthcare summer institute ? I thought over about this question contemplating back and forth on why I would like to attend. In the end I came up with; I feel like if attending would better my chance of become a Veterinarian in the future I would take the opportunity over and over again. I would love the opportunity to look at the campus and see how college students live. I’ve never toured the University of Florida's campus but I have been to the equestrian area many time before and have seen a lot of
A person interested in becoming a nurse needs to understand that their job will be taking care of complete strangers during their daily shift. Taking care of family members is one thing, but taking care of people they have never met before in their life is difficult. A nurse needs to be there for their patient constantly to provide care. No matter what that care may be, from getting their patient something to eat; or helping them go to the restroom. By choosing this career, he or she is committed to putting their own thoughts aside and giving unconditional care to others.
I have goals as to why I want to further my education. I have been accepted to the University of Central Florida, where I plan on attending. I would like to study religion, go on to graduate school, and become a college professor. I had plenty of mountains to climb to get to where I am now. However, a plethora of opportunities helped me to climb those mountains.
Nursing is just a way you can show love, care, and help towards people you might not even know but you will get the wonderful chance of meeting them. A nurse has so many different ways of showing kindness towards everyone and it's great to see people get better because of them. I will continue my college education at South Piedmont Community College to get my degree in nursing. While trying to get the rest of my education of a nursing degree I will get a part time job at the hospital until I can get my full time job as a nurse. Also having a job outside of the hospital would be nice to help pay for my debt and other everyday
My desire to become a nurse comes from my natural capability to thrive in a stressful, challenging, and fast-paced environment. Nursing become my interest because of the medical aspect, and it really makes me feel good to know that I have a significant role in helping people in some way. Nurses are not trained to simply observe only physical changes; nevertheless, we will see a patient in all aspects and be able to provide them a proper care.
Nursing is more than just simply a career. Nursing is a calling from a higher power. I chose to be a nurse for several different reasons. My uncle was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer in (date). The care and compassion shown to my uncle put nursing in another perspective for me. The feelings of care and comfort my family received during this tragic time had a strong impact on my decision to become a nurse. I decided that I wanted to make the lives of sick individuals, as well as their families, less stressful. I decided that I wanted to become a nurse.
