Concept introduction:
Henry’s law
Henry’s law states that dissolved gases in liquid are directly proportional to the partial pressure of the gas over the solution.
Where,
The quantity of gas will dissolve in a solvent depends on how often the gas molecule colloid with the surface of the liquid and become attentive by the condensed phase occurs by utilizing kinetic molecular theory.
Henry’s law cannot be valid for gases at high pressure or if there is a reaction between solvent and dissolved gas.

At 298 K, what is the solubility of oxygen in water exposed to air at 1.00 atm? solubility: At 298 K, what is the solubility of oxygen in water exposed to air at 0.900 atm? solubility: If atmospheric pressure suddenly changes from 1.00 atm to 0.900 atm at 298 K, how much oxygen will be released from 4.80 L of water in an unsealed container? amount: MacBook Pro Search or type URL + M M molarrow_forwardA bubble of air escaping from a diver's mask rises from a depth of 108 ft to the surface where the pressure is 1.00 atm. Initially, the bubble has a volume of 10.0 mL. Assuming none of the air dissolves in the water, how many times larger is the bubble just as it reaches the surface? Use this data: 1. The density of seawater is approximately 1.025 g ml-1 2. The density of mercury is 13.6 g ml-1 i times larger Use your answer to explain why scuba divers constantly exhale as they slowly rise from a deep dive. Since the pressure by a factor of approximately i , the volume must by a factor of approximately i Divers exhale to the amount of gas in their lungs, so it does not to a volume than the diver's lungs.arrow_forward
- You have a flask weighing 121.214 g. To this flask, you added 25.00 mL KCl(aq) solution. You weigh the flask, it is now 150.234 g. You then take the flask to a heating source and evaporate all solvents. When the flask cool down to room temperature, you weigh the flask again, it is 124.231 g.
