I am in need of some help with my Calculus homework again. I need to find the limit, if it exists, for problem #23 on page 103, in the James Stewart Calculus Eighth Edition. I am having trouble finding out how to factor the numerator of the function. In other words, I just need a hint on what to do.
I need help with another Calculus problem. From page 103 of the James Stewart Calculus Eighth Edition is problem #29, I need to find the limit of the function provided, if it exists.
If exactly 192 people sign up for a charter flight, Leisure World Travel Agency charges $294/person. However, if more than 192 people sign up for the flight (assume this is the case), then each fare is reduced by $1 for each additional person. Determine how many passengers will result in a maximum revenue for the travel agency. Hint: Let x denote the number of passengers above 192. Show that the revenue function R is given by
R(x) = (192 + x)(294 − x).
_______passengers
What is the maximum revenue?
$ _______
What would be the fare per passenger in this case?
_________ dollars per passenger
