Introduction:
The reproduction is the process of producing individuals with similar genetic and morphological makeup for the continuation of the species. There are two types of reproduction sexual and asexual.
Explanation of Solution
In sexual reproduction, the formation of a new individual takes place through the fusion of the male and the female haploid cells. This haploid cell produced by the organisms of different sexes is known as gamete.
The gametogenesis is the process of formation of haploid gametes in the sexually reproducing organisms. It is formed by the reductional cell division known as meiosis. The human male gamete is sperm and the process of production of sperm is known as the spermatogenesis. The female gamete is known egg or oocyte and the process of egg production is known as oogenesis.
The gametogenesis is the process of formation of gametes. The gametes are the haploid cells formed by the diploid cells.
