Most of us think that extroverted children are more sociable than introverted . Also, we call them " shy" because introverted children are not talkative as much we do, also they prefer to stay alone at home and immersion into the books' world. and try to develop a new idea while extroverted are going out with theirs friends. that's reason, easily we call them' shy', because introverted are opposite with extroverted. At the very first day she would pack out her suitcase which was full of books and this seemed very normal to her, as in her family, reading was a “different way of being social“. Very quickly she got confronted with some adjectives often used in relation to introversion: mellow, shy and not very outgoing. At this point she felt guilty leaving her books in her suitcase but she begun thinking more deeply about why extroversion is being so prized in contrast to introversion, that is considered to be something negative. She affirms that this is partly a consequence of our education system and also of our cultural
Introversion are traits where a person is more mindful of their own thoughts and feelings rather than their surrounding environment. Have you ever met someone that seemed to be more reserved than others? Someone who tends to keep their emotions private? Someone who is more of a social
Susan Cain’s Ted Talk The Power Of Introverts brought a new conversation to society in how introverts are treated. Five years ago (when this took place) this topic was not very well discussed, which made this piece very eye opening for some. Using Aristotle's appeals: logos and pathos, as well as a comparative argument in her ted talk, Cain persuades viewers that we as a society oppress/shame introverts, not allowing them to strive or be themselves in our now extroverted society. She advocates for a more balanced society that serves both introverts and extroverts instead of just extroverts.
In her article Shyness: Evolutionary Tactic? author Susan Cain addresses many of the preconceived notions society has against introverted people. Cain argues that society tends to favor the outgoing and extroverted and shames those who prefer to be alone rather than socialize. The author utilizes certain writing strategies as a way to change her audience’s original views surrounding introversion. Cain’s use of comparing and contrasting, specific examples, and strong transitions that bridge various ideas to each other make her argument, that introverts are essential to society, much more persuasive.

Susan Cain’s “Power of Introverts” talk was all about the importance of people who are considered introvertly inclined in our society. In her talk, she described first how her family influenced her in being an introvert. Reading is her family’s social activity and that one can roam around through his or her own imagination. She also discussed about her memorable summer camp story where she has discovered the way extrovert people live and tried to shift in this kind of life. With all these changes in her life she never left her introverted life and espoused the ideas that when it comes to creativity and leadership, the society needs introverts and the things where they excel most. She explained that introversion is how one responds to stimulation including social stimulation which is different from a person being shy – the fear of social judgment.
An introvert person is usually someone who enjoys solitude rather than spending time with a group of people. Introverts are often known for being able to “recharge” on their own, rather than recharging by socializing. Extroverts usually gain energy from spending time with other people. For many introverts, being in a social surrounding and spending a lot of time around people can be exhausting, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they don’t like people. It means they choose not to be surrounded by others. But why do introverts want to be alone? Is it because they lack social skills or social interest? Or maybe they create a protective wall where they don’t let people in.
When people hear the word introvert, they usually think of someone who is quiet, shy and keeps to themselves. The word introvert generally has a negative connotation associated with it, but Susan Cain argues in a Ted talk called “The power of introverts” that being an introvert is actually a good thing. In her argument, Cain uses ethos, logos, and pathos to appeal to her audience and this essay will analyze how she does so.
While most businesses look for an extroverted leader, Susan Cain has a very different perspective. She presented her speech, “The Power of Introverts”, where she explained how introverts are often underestimated. She talked about students who prefer to be alone are seen as an outlier or a problem and that surveys found that teachers feel the ideal student is an extrovert. She does not understand why teachers prefer extroverts since introverts often get better grades, and explains why introverts should not be looked over. Susan Cain’s goal is to inform the audience of the power of introverts, through her personal experiences, humor, emotion and statistics on the subject, and hopefully change the way society thinks of introverts. Cain is an
The book Quiet by Susan Cain. gives a unique insight into the world of introverts. Cain (2012) covers an array of topics but the most that stood out were how introverts are leaders just like extroverts, but with small differences. Introverts have certain leaderships skills that will come easier to them than extroverts, such as self-awareness, listening skills and empathy (Cain, 2012). However they also have disadvantages such as being too sensitives as times and being spoken over and at times brushed aside by extroverts in certain industries. However as tied to educational leadership, Quiet reveals that many introverts can easily become leaders, learn quickly what their strengths are and make up for their weaknesses by sometimes pretending to be extroverted since and some people who are thought to extroverts are in fact be introverts (Cain, 2012).
Communication apprehension is categorized as fear or anxiety associated with real or anticipated communication with a person or persons. It is a form of social anxiety that takes into account various contexts. The PRCA-24 assessment I completed scored my levels of communication apprehension in four different areas: group discussion, interpersonal conversation, meetings, and public speaking. From my results I found that I most likely experience communication apprehension during group discussions and interpersonal conversations but not during meetings and public speaking. I agree that the results do apply to my life on certain occasions.
There are two main theories that help identify a person’s personality type, the introvert or the extravert. These ideas became popular by: Carl Jung, he also believed that people at different times showed both characteristics of the introvert and the extravert. Most people are neither introverts nor extraverts they share a mix of the characteristics that define an introvert or an extravert.
Carl Jung has defined introversion as “withdrawn and often shy, and tend to focus on themselves along with their own thoughts and/or feelings.” Jung also found that everyone starts off with introversion and extroversion, but with time and life experience only the dominant one is the one that shows Therefore, for example two young children going through different life experience can both end

If one child has difficulty making friends or tends to be shy, they will most likely be introverts. While the other child is very sociable, energetic, and likes to be around people will most likely be extroverts. Gordon Allport based introversion through expressive behavior, which is usually shown spontaneously without purpose and through the unconscious mind.
