You are leading one of Metaformers’ internal initiatives. Our company does not have experience with this area. Your first task is to provide a business plan and recommendations for next steps. What process would you follow to achieve these objectives? The first step is to fully understand the initiative that Metaformers’ wants to undertake is to start with a needs assessment that will pinpoint the organizational benefits, the stakeholders involved, potential costs, a baseline of data for later comparison, and areas of the organization that will be most affected by the change. With our baseline of data, we will have determined the key metrics that we will use to measure the impact of the initiative on the organization. After a needs assessment, we will have a better grasp of the situation and can accurately decide what the initiative will entail. This information will be used to research industry best practices, which will help ensure we have not missed any other key criteria to consider with the initiative, as well as a way to benchmark our performance to other organizations. …show more content…
Individuals and groups that are involved or effected by the changes will be included in process mapping of the current state to guarantee that the process has been mapped correctly. Process mapping will also ensure a systems approach to implementing the initiative, where we will be able to predict how a change in one area of the organization will impact another area of the organization. This will help further align Metaformers’ strategic goals and allow for the most beneficial
[Give the mission of the organization; describe the purpose for the plan; explain under what circumstances it would be activated; explain how the plan will be used by the organization; depict the expected outcome of the plan activation; give the assumptions used in the development of the plan; and give an overview of the structure that will implement it.
Gather information for initiation plan and make sure that company heads knows about objectives of the project
Stakeholders will provide information about funding, sponsoring, enhancing the program. The information will be collected to determine the effectiveness of the outcomes. Most of the information will come from surveys, documents, interviews, and census data. Surveys are not as reliable as interviews, but it is faster and cheaper to understand the people
Addressing these questions will enable decision makers to adequately assess the information being presented and make the necessary decisions in implementing the changes or new processes necessary.
In preparation to that, I interviewed members of the leadership team on their expectations, objectives, requirements and challenges and analysed all this information to prepare a viable plan that would have a practical use. I also reviewed all previous activity in my area. The Plan was updated regularly, and there was also a number of new communications projects needed to be implemented and which could not be anticipated beforehand. In previous jobs, I have developed new systems and procedures to enable the growth of the organisation. I have an extensive experience in planning, implementation and evaluation of public relations/communications and marketing campaigns locally (South Australia), nationally (Russia) and internationally (China) in all my positions in a variety of business
The third step is to create a vision for change, it is important to define the initial value which is most prominent to this change. By creating a short paragraph which summarises the main points that should be seen as “the future of your organisation” https://www.mindtools.com/pages/article/newPPM_82.htm by generating a plan of approach for this change, it will help when boosting this vision throughout the organisation.
1. What specific steps should the board take to create an executive team to manage the newly organization?
•Business plan completion. This will be done as a roadmap for the organization. This will be an indispensable tool for the ongoing performance and improvement of the company.
In these next several paragraphs I will outline each and every detail that you need to know about our company, how we plan to go about it, how it works, who it
b. The second recommendation would be the implementation of a formal strategic management plan that consists of SWOT analysis, strategy formulation, implantation, and evaluation and control in conjunction with progressing to a planning mode. The planning consists of systematic information gathering, strategy generation and alternatives and has been proven to be more analytical, less political, and more suited for addressing complex, changing environments such as theirs (Wheelen & Hunger, 2006, p. 21).
The second recommendation would be to synthesize all available input from all possible sources- internal and external and create a strategic vision that will help the company see where they need to make changes and how those changes will help the growth of the financial.
The main parts of the readiness assessment includes examination of the organizations demands for the design, building a results based system, reviewing existing structures for assessing performance and the organization 's capacity requirements. Sharing information as well as involving the key stakeholders, including each employee helps to bring everyone on gaining consensus of the key performance indicators that should be measured. Every key indicator has a cost and work implications therefore each stakeholder needs to reformulate the key concerns identified into a positive desirable outcome in order to gain agreement.
After: As the CEO, I would solve for the business problems with a multi approach strategy that focuses on 3 areas:
I would review our corporate strategy and look at the progress of achieving our objectives. I would assign a team to analyze our current processes and evaluate them in order to discover areas that are doing well and areas that require improvement. We could then decide how to solve these problems while also continuing to reach our objectives. I would employ constraint management and the theory of constraints in order to identify factors that are limiting our systems performance and are restricting output. The theory of constraints would be utilized to increase our profits by improving and speeding up workflow. A team would be assembled to manage constraints and adjust the processes to be less constrained with shorter setup times. The Drum-buffer-rope system can help regulate and control flow so production does not get backed up and the manufacture of our soup and cracker products can run more efficiently. Since we are adding new soups, we need to make product mix decisions such as how many cans of each soup should be produced at any given time. The contribution margin, or the amount each product contributes to profits and overhead, is important to making product mix decisions. The cash cow products should be favored and run more often in order to increase profits. Rebalancing the assembly line is necessary because we have a new product, chicken noodle soup, so we need to plan our schedules to include this new product and its setup times, cost, number sold and
