Henri Blaze (18131888)
Blaze de Bury, Ange Henri (bläz dė bü-rē’). A French literary critic and historian (1813–88); born at Paris. He was profoundly conversant with German literature, and published many admirable studies on that subject. His historical sketches,—‘The Königsmarcks’ (1855), ‘The Legend of Versailles’ (1870), ‘Women of the Renaissance’ (1886), etc.,—and his numerous brief memoirs of great musicians, are worthy of mention.
