Justification:
Definition: ‘Statistics’ is the science of collecting, organizing, summarizing, and analyzing information to make conclusions or to interpret or answer questions of interest. In addition, Statistics is used to infer a representative sample and provide a measure of confidence in any conclusion or interpretation. In the given definition, information is nothing but the data. Data can be numerical, ordinal, nominal, discrete, continuous, and so on. Statistics can also represent as a function of parameter.
For an example, a researcher wants to find the average height of the students of 7th grade of a certain school. Researcher collects the height of all students of 7th standard. Now the data should be organized serially or in a well-defined manner or grouping the data into classes. The Researcher uses Statistics (mean) to find the average of the heights of the students, infer about the heights, and make a conclusion.
