Explanation of Solution
Minerals are made up of many elements. Different minerals combine physically to form rocks. Rocks are the aggregation of many types of minerals and materials. Materials that make a rock can be a volcanic glass or a silicate, but these substances are not considered as minerals. The reason behind this is that these substances do not have a crystalline structure.
Rocks are classified into three types based on the process of their formation. The three types of rocks are igneous rocks, sedimentary rocks, and metamorphic rocks.
