The six major climate controls.
Introduction:
Climate refers to the aggregate of the weather for a longer time. The climate of an area determines the atmospheric conditions of a location, and it is changed dynamically. In the different parts of the Earth, different varieties of climates can be observed.
Explanation of Solution
There are six major controls of the climate. These are as follows:
• Latitude:
Latitude is one of the control because the amount of solar radiation that reaches on the Earth surface is determined by the latitude.
• Land and water:
Land and water are differently distributed in an area which determines the temperature of the location.
• Geographic position and prevailing winds:
Climate can be altered by the location of the particular place on the continent, and it can also be affected by the ways in which prevailing winds are related to that place.
• Mountains and highlands:
Mountains are sometimes known as topographic barriers that do not allow air mass to reach on the surface of a location.
• Ocean currents:
Ocean currents can alter the temperature of nearby located regions.
• Pressure and wind systems:
The major pressure and wind system of the Earth are distributed because it is closely related to the distribution of precipitation all over the world.
