Concept explainers
Interpretation:
Recombinant is the technology used for making artificial (genetic modification) by combining different genetic materials () from different sources. It is the laboratory method of Genetic recombination to get genetic material () from different sources which would create a genomic sequence. A plasmid is small molecule within a cell that is physically reparable from chromosomal and can replicate independently. They are most commonly found in small circular double – stranded molecules in bacteria.
Concept used:
in E. coil bacterial cells exists in small circular molecules called plasmids. These can easily be isolated. Thus they can be used to from recombinants.
To determine:
The reason E.coli bacteria are used in recombinant procedures
