The difference between specular and diffuse reflection.
Answer to Problem 1CQ
For specular reflection, the angle of reflection and the angle of incident has to be same but for a diffuse reflection, the angle of reflection and the angle of incident need not to be same.
Explanation of Solution
When the
When the radiation is incident on a surface and the radiation is reflecting with an angle of reflection which is not necessarily equal to the angle of incident, it is known as diffuse reflection. When the surface features of the material are large or similar compared to the incident wavelength of radiation, the diffuse radiation happens. The reflection of visible light on rock, road, wood etc. can be defined as diffuse reflection.
