Concept introduction:

Enol refers to an intermediate structure that consists of an alkene group connected with a hydroxyl group at one end of its double bond.

The formation of enol occurs when a molecule contains protons on its alpha carbon atom. The extraction of protons takes place from the alpha carbon atom of the molecule to form an enol.

If the higher priority group are present on the opposite side then it is termed as an E isomer, While if the higher priority group are present on the same side then it is termed as Z isomer.
