Introduction:
Human interference in the biodiversity is the main reason for increasing species extinction. From fossil records, it can be estimated that earlier extinctions occurred naturally. The rate of extinction was very low million years ago. This is known as background extinction rate and it was about 0.1–1 extinction per million species per year. Evidence of mass extinctions is also found in many species million years ago. Recent rate of species extinction is increasing very rapidly. It is about 100–1000 extinctions per million per year and it is 1000 times more than the background extinction rate.
