Pyrococcusis thermostable extremophile and can tolerate up to 105°C (degree Celsius). Thermoplasmatales include Thermoplasmaacidophilum and Ferroplasmaacidarmanus. T. acidophilumhas acquired a gene from Sulfobolous through horizontal gene transfer.
