In order to invade new habitat faster, cane toads on the edge of their range hop further and more often. This causes their
legs to stretch more and their muscles to get more direct exercise. This builds up muscle mass and their legs become
longer and stronger. When they reproduce this newly acquired leg strength is passed directly onto their offspring. In
each new generation the offspring have longer stronger legs.
