Introduction:
The membrane bound compartment which exists inside chloroplasts and cyanobacteria is thylakoid. This is the site for those reactions of photosynthesis which are dependent on light.
A continuous aqueous phase which the thylakoid membrane encloses is the thylakoid lumen.
