Applicability of four postulates of Darwin to a population of rabbits that share a meadow with foxes.
Introduction:
The four postulates of Darwin are as follows-
The organisms of a population vary in traits such as size and shape.
Some of the differences in their traits are heritable, that is pass to next generation.
In each generation, the number of viable offsprings is less than the produced offsprings. There is differential reproduction in organisms. Not all individuals survive upto the age of reproduction.
The individuals with heritable traits are able to survive and reproduce more, that is naturally selected.
