Chapter 27.1, Problem 2TYK
Summary Introduction
Introduction:
Cyclostome is an organism that belongs to class Cyclostomata. The word Cyclostomata is derived from the Greek word ‘Cyklos’ that in English means ‘round mouth’.
Cyclostomes are jawless fishes having a large sucking mouth. They are fresh-water and marine vertebrates. Due to the absence of jaw, they are termed as jawless vertebrates.
Cyclostomes have a long body and compressed tail. They have a circular mouth which is surrounded by tentacles and works like a sucker. 12 pair of individual openings of the gill is seen. Endoskeleton is present in them.
