Chapter 38, Problem 6TY
Summary Introduction

Introduction:

Hormones are the chemical messengers that are secreted into the blood by the glands present in our body. They are transported to the target organs via the circulatory system. They help in the development of growth, metabolism of food, control of our mood, and maintain body temperature. The hormones are of two types, hydrophilic hormones, which are water-soluble hormones, and hydrophobic hormones, which are non-soluble in water.

A 65-year-old male patient is prescribed an ACE ( Angiotensin-converting enzyme) inhibitor (Benazepril ) for the treatment of hypertension. Which statement below is incorrect?     Angiotensin II causes constriction of the vessels and triggers the release of aldosterone.     ACE Inhibitors prevent Angiotensinogen I  from converting to Angiotensin II.     Kidneys will excrete water and potassium.     This medication will lower SVR (systemic vascular resistance) and blood pressure.
