A horizontal force of P = 36 kN is applied to joint C. Each pin has a diameter of 25 mm and is subjected to double shear. (Figure 1)
Determine the average shear stress developed in pin A of the truss.Express your answer to three significant figures and include the appropriate units.
A tensile test was conducted by the CE 405 Construction Material and Testing course on a specimen with a diameter of 12.70 mm. A strain gage was bonded to the specimen so that the strain could be obtained directly. The following data were obtained:
