Chapter 9.3, Problem 3SB
Summary Introduction
To review:
The role of the first messenger in a G-protein-coupled receptor-controlled pathway.
Introduction:
G-protein coupled receptors (GPCR) are composed of a very large family of proteins. The molecules present outside the cell are detected by these proteins only. The G-protein coupled-receptor-controlled pathway comprises a cascade of reactions involving various primary and secondary messengers. These messengers help in the activation of signal transduction pathways and ultimately complete the cellular responses.
