Concert Review Essay

would first like to start this concert review off stating that I do not know really anything about how to play and write music, and all the aspects of getting the melody and harmony right in the music. What might be simple and have a good steadiness throughout the music to me might be elabrate and unsteady to the performer. When I listen to music, I do listen to the music itself but I am more likely to relate to the lyrics so that is my main focus. So for this review, my insight on how the music is

The first half of the concert was only instrumental. There were two violins, two violas, and two cellos. They sat on stage with the violins one my right, then the violas in the middle, and the cellos on the end. The violins played a few songs solo. The second half of the concert was only the choir and a piano. Their performance started with the song Daybreak. The symphony concert was a lot different from what a pop concert feels like, or even from the concerts we used to put on in high school. The parents were always antsy, and they clapped in any break in the music. You could hear phones going off, people coughing and talking. Pop concerts have people standing and dancing. This was a much more refined, elegant experience. No one spoke audibly during the performance, people held in their coughs until the breaks in the music. No one clapped between movements

Blues Era. This was great experience for me because it was my first time attending a concert that was being played on the piano throughout the entire concert. It was also a great experience because I gotten the chance to see my music professor (Mrs. Davis) perform what she loves to do it. . I attended David T. Wallace Jr. Saxophone concert, on March 3, 2017 at 4 pm in the Morrison Fine arts building. He was accompanied by a pianist Run Guthrie. The event was held in a choir room, and it started on time. I have never been to a saxophone or piano concert, it was a fun and new experience. For my first concert review, I attended the Music at the Marley event at the St. Petersburg Museum of Fine Arts. The event featured the University of Tampa Faculty Ensemble with Barbara Prescott on flute, Meg Cassell on oboe, Theodore Decoroso on clarinet, and Grigorios Zamparas on piano. In this virtuoso series concert, the style of music displayed was different pieces from 1756-1983. There are six groups who performed and the instruments range from horn, violin, viola, cello, flute, clarinet, harp, percussion, and a beautiful voice. On November 18, 2015, I attended a UAB concert involving jazz combos and a guitar ensemble. This concert was filled with amazing musicians, intricate solos, and thick harmonies. There were three jazz combos and one guitar ensemble; the first set was the guitar ensemble, which contained four guitarists and one bass player. I attended a Brazilian concert named Choro das 3 on April 11,2016 at Evergreen Presbyterian Church. I was expecting this musical to sound very festive, fun and relaxing. The instrumental group consisted of three sisters and their father. Elisa played the Brazilian mandolin, banjo, and the clarinet. She also writes and performs on the piano. Lia holds the harmony while she played the seven-string guitar. Their father, Eduardo, gave us the rhythm with the frame drum. Corina doubled n the piccolo.

On September 8th, 2016 at 7:30 PM, a concert was held at Chabot College, Buffington Theater. A concert was performed by many different musicians such as William Sauerland with voice; Rick Flores with guitar , I really enjoy this performance because the guitar is one of my favorite instruments.
