Summary Introduction
Introduction:
The two forms of beneficial relationships among microorganisms are a synergistic and symbiotic relationship. In a synergistic relationship, the members living in close association benefiting each other as such that they can live separately. In a symbiotic relationship, each member is so closely associated that they cannot survive without each other. Biofilms which are the primary natural habitat of microbes is a synergistic association in which different species of microbe are presently attached to a substrate. Biofilms are formed due to a process called quorum sensing.
