A compensated semiconductor contains both types of dopants.

There are two types of dopants added to a semiconductor to change its properties like the conducting nature of the material. These are of two types namely, donors and acceptor.

The impurities that increases conductivity by donating an extra charge to an intrinsic semiconductor are known as donor impurities. Whereas, the impurities that accepts the charge from neighboring atom are known as acceptor impurities.
