An intrinsic reward is the individual’s contentment when he or she accomplish objectives and perform efficiently. Intrinsic reward comes from inside the individual.

An extrinsic reward is the contentment from the tangible benefit, generally in the financial form received as recognition for efficient performance. It includes rise in pay, bonuses, and promotions.
