Chapter 15, Problem 26RQ
Summary Introduction
To review:
The Krebs bicycle.
Introduction:
Amino groups are used for the synthesis of amino acids or other compounds, but, if it is not the case, then it is important to excrete it out of the body in order to reduce toxicity. In most of the terrestrial animals (ureotelic), it is excreted as urea via a sequence of reactions, which are constitutively known as the urea cycle. It is linked to the Krebs cycle (citric acid cycle) and is constitutively known as Krebs bicycle.
